BEWARE! AVOID!
Highly questionable business practices.. think he barely skates by being "legal", but the way K&M auctions operate just doesnt seem right..

when I learn K&M are going to "auction" anything, any place, any event, any store, I AVOID attending ..
I hav personally witnessed the following with several of their hired locations:

the first time was over some plastic flowers in a vase, (yes really) which a store had tagged at $55 (retail), and they were obviously extremely over-priced (hence why the store was going out of business) because they looked like they were dollar store plastic flowers and I wondered why anyone would want them..

however when the autioneer guy asked for a bid, an elderly lady said "one dollar".. you could tell she was on a fixed budget with her older sweater and polyester pants, but she liked those flowers, or maybe it was the mediocre vase.. IDK.

but either way, yes she started the bid low.. then when she said "one dollar" the auctioneer guy flipped out and yelled at this woman! (yes OUT LOUD!) and then said very loudly, "thats stealing!". the room got very quiet and in front of all people he stated it was a (MB?) certain "type" of auction, and he could set the price. (which why did he ask for a bid if that was the case?)

I was flabbergasted at how he treated this older woman, but I wanted to see what the response was.. so when the elderly lady said "but I thought thats what an auction was, we bid up the price from there".. the K&M Auction guy said "thats the (xyz) type auction, and if you dont like it you can leave!"..

yes, to this older woman who wanted those plastic flowers.. he TOLD HER TO LEAVE!!
as it was, the flowers didnt sell.. he started off the price at $35, thern lowered it to $25, and still no one bid.

I almost bid just to give the flowers to the lady but by then I really didnt know what to think, say, or do..
I had never experienced such a thing at an auction before..

I then witnessed a repeat of this type of interaction at a K&M auction.. yes, AGAIN at an event he was hosting.. the autioneer guy was the same shorter, white male with a smaller build.. and hes very cocky which I dont mind, but this is not in a benign way, its like hes got some chip on his shoulder but thats my impression, and it wasnt just that day..

the other time it happened I realized this is something this company regularly does.. and while he claims its a "Florida (xyz) type auction, under this catagory, with (xyz) type licensing" it just doesnt sit well with me, and while I guess he can legally do it, it just doesnt seem right, and reflects poorly on them, and the people I spoke with at the events dont like it either...
the fact he "switches" the "type" of auction should also hav been a red flag, for I hav never expereinced that before either (and yes Iv been to many, many auctions in my life).. he announces it (he uses a microphone) and then "switches" the "type" of auction (maybe for items that are a harder sell), then asks a person in the crowd to start a bid.. of course, again, the bid is low, and he will yell at them and accuse them of "stealing", and then if they disagree, will ASK THEM TO LEAVE!! "if they dont like it"..

oh, and I forgot, the K&M autioneer guy will also say (yes on the microphone) "and I can choose who participates if you cant follow the rules".. which is ridiculous, and quite frankly, makes everyone uncomfortable, and Iv even seen some roll their eyes as if they hav heard it before ..

when I experienced it AGAIN, (little different wording, but quintessentially the same "auction type" rhetoric) that was it for me .. I made a decision about K&M..

after that, whenever I attended an auction or even see a flier, promotion, ad, or announcement of any auction, I would/will check and make sure who was hosting it, and if its K&M I avoid it altogether.

AGAIN: IF ITS A K&M AUCTION I REFUSE TO ATTEND!!
