Today was my first visit with Dr Daniel hellerstein in West Palm Beach At Good Samaritan Hospital. I have multiple health issues. He had his laptop out and was beyond prepared and familiar with my medical history -and my long list of my medication‘s. He even had CAT scan results and ultrasound results that he showed me he even showed where I had my back surgery in 2015. I was impressed with his knowledge and his matter of fact approach to testing and follow up. he is by far the best doctor I’ve had in West Palm Beach since I moved here in 2010

Dr. Hellerstein has treated me for many years for kidney stones. After dealing with a couple of stones over a few years, I was yet again in horrific pain & knew that I had another stone. After diagnostic testing, I was found to have 9 stones (5 in one kidney, 4 in the other). It was obvious to Dr. Hellerstein that he had to find out WHY my body was forming so many stones in a short amount of time!! An elaborate urinalysis was done at a lab out west & my citrate level was almost non-existent. (A normal citrate level prevents stones from forming)

The medication to bring that level up is very acidic and rough on your stomach. Dr. Hellerstein had me adjust the dosage so as to work up to the proper dose for me. I’ve now gone years with no new stones. Most of the original 9 are gone - some passed, some were blasted & others had to be removed. All of the outpatient procedures were performed by Dr. Hellerstein with a kind & compassionate level of care.

I have seen this doctor every year to make sure all of my levels are normal (& they have been for many years now) and that the stones that are “in a happy place” have not grown or moved into a bad area!!

I am moving out of this State & unfortunately will not be able to use Dr. Hellerstein any more and for that, I am sad as he is a very knowledgeable doctor with a very kind & caring demeanor. I will miss this doctor!!

I have a fiercely bad pain and I was told by Dr Hellerstein that I had a kidney stone and I should take some medications and it would pass because it was small. But I should really come back to get checked out because I have had gout before and my dad did too. My brother had stones and gout too!
My own fault I never did much about it, and it passed. About 6 months later - just like he predicted I got another stone.
His office staff was so nice, even though i had missed an appointment before. they got me a scan and a visit. It passed and was due to acid (uric ) and my love of hot dogs and beer too. I am on allowpurinal and a new diet/ Thank you Dr Hellerstein you guys really helped me a lot

I personally had to be seen by Dr Hallerstein for a severe painful Kidney stone.He is very diligent and makes sure to visit all his hospital patients even at 9PM.I appreciate his conservative and thoughtful wonderful care.

Please DO NOT go to this Dr. My family member was in the hospital at Good Samaritan and the minute he walked in the room, he began to use foul language and threw things around in the room. I was so alarmed that I asked the nurse to step out of the room before he performed the procedure (inserting catheter). I told the nurse that I was extremely uneasy with his behavior and mental state. I specifically told her that I was afraid that he would hurt my family member when performing the procedure. His comments to my family member were inappropriate and highly offensive. Unfortunately, as he was performing the procedure he punctured his bladder and subsequently passed away. I encourage you to stay away from Dr. Hellerstein!

I filed a report with Good Samaritan hospital and they immediately referred me to their attorney. The risk management office and executive medical staff were well aware of his behavior however he continues to work at the hospital. Shame on them!

I took my mom the first time to Dr Hellerstein. He showed no compassion to my mom and every comment was negative. I feel terrible that mom waited over an hour in a wheel chair with major anxiety over her catheter and suffers dementia. If this was his mom I bet my life he would not appreciate any doctor treating his mom with such disrespect and so cold and negative. My mom has been through so much and needs support, caring and compassion is too much to ask. He does not deserve to be in the field, heartless. I never would post anything like this but hours later I still am upset for how bad he treated my mom. We only have one mom and he sure could have cared less.

Some of the reviews I have read are so shocking and totally incorrect, that it has moved me to offer my opinion and share my story. First and foremost, Dr Hellerstein is a first rate Urologist and and kind and compassion filled man. I am privileged to know him and be under his care for the past +25 years. When I relocated from New York, where I was under the care of the top Urologist in the City, I did extensive research for Urologist until I gladly settled on Dr Hellerstein. He accepted me and my complex urological history, and went above and beyond in some cases. As a (very personal) example, if it were not for his knowledge and skills, my wife and I would not have 3 wonderful children today, THATS how special and talented he is. It disturbs me to see some of the comments listed in the reviews because from my point of view, Dr Hellerstein, quite honestly has helped to give me a great life. Please judge for yourself, trust this gifted Doctor, and forever, THANK YOU Dr Hellerstein. Brian 12/6/19
